Someone Killed My Cow

from Tin Foil Cat by Daniel Kelly

/

about

A tragic Bovine story.

lyrics

Am G Am
Daisy was a milker, the finest in the herd,
C Am G Am
She was gentle, smart and loyal, Would answer to my word.

But then one night I found her, In a state beyond belief,
What monster would do such a thing, my heart it broke with grief.

The night was still and quiet, when I heard the hound dogs bark,
I took my torch and shotgun, ventured into the dark.

I saw the lights a dancing, way up in the sky,
And ground beneath was shaking, as something large flew by.

And then I found my Daisy, what was left of her at least,
An undignified ending, for such a well-loved beast,

Her spleen and heart were missing, They’d taken her left eye,
Entrails in a spiral, and all the blood drained dry,

I don’t know who killed daisy, Maybe Steve’s kids over the hill,
But I miss her gentle mooing, And I think I always will.
