Interstellar Loving

lyrics

G C Em D
I was driving down the highway, Route three seven five,
C G Am D
Travelling on a business trip, Crystal Springs was such a dive,

She was standing by the highway, In a yellow scarf and hat,
A pale thumb was sticking out, her dress immaculate,

I stopped and said I’m heading west, And did she want a ride,
She nodded but she didn’t speak, climbed right on inside,

We drove for fifteen miles, listening to Barry White,
Then my heart it started racing, and my collar it was tight,

She placed her hand upon my knee, and pointed off the road,
As I gazed into her large black eyes, I felt my head explode.

We did things on that side road, which I never could explain,
With slime and probes and tentacles, That still excite my brain,

I never knew such loving, And I probably never will,
For she vanishing when we both were spent, and I often crave her still.

Many years I drove that highway, still looking for a sign,
Am D G
Of that yellow scarf and yellow hat, that for just one day were mine.
